Volunteering opportunities
The Beaufort Theatre & Café Bar is a community arts hub run by volunteers from and for the community.
The team is a group of people helping to support and develop the engagement of arts and cultural activities within The Beaufort Theatre & Café Bar and enhance the community in which they live. The activities in which we engage encompasses customer service, project support, community improvement, theatre technical work and more.
Our volunteers are aged between 16 years & 60+ and live across the County Borough of Blaenau Gwent. There are opportunities to learn new skills, support the community and explore the theatre. If you have a few hours or even a more regular weekly availability we would like to chat more about how we can make our venue a great place for all Blaenau Gwent residents and visitors to our area.
We are always looking to expand our brilliant team with community members. Are you a keen gardener or a retired carpenter? Do you do DIY at home or have an interest in dance and theatre? We have opportunities for you!
Please get in touch to see how we can support you and how you can support your community.
Front of House & Café Bar
At each performance in the Main House our Front of House Volunteers welcome and take care of up 310 guests. The Front of House Volunteers are key to ensuring the success of each performance, from guiding guests to their seats, serving snacks and drinks from our Kiosk and selling tickets, the volunteers are the face of the building.
Our guests are supported by our Front of House Volunteers through their evening with us. We offer a great customer service experience at our venue from the foyer team ushering guests to their seats to our bar and café team serving food and drinks throughout the evening. We are passionate about giving the people of Blaenau Gwent the best quality service possible.
Could you help us with this? Are you a retired person or a young person looking for training and experience. Our Front of House team could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Clean and Green
The Beaufort Theatre & Café Bar community garden project aimed to transform our outdoor space into a safe and social green space for local residents, theatre patrons and young people. Clean & Green Community garden was supported by the Community Voice Community Choice scheme from Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council
Our Clean & Green Youth Volunteer team helped to plant new flower beds, planters and a wild flower meadow. Alongside our core volunteer team we have been able to install new seating and an insect hotel and bird feeding station. Our ongoing environmental work will help to develop and expand our community garden and hopefully decrease anti-social behaviour in our community.
